It uses a resistive touch screen. This type of screen has thin layers that must be flexible in order to work properly. Putting a tempered glass screen protector on it would reduce the accuracy of its ability to detect touch and possibly make the screen completely unresponsive to touch. **Q: How well do the screen protectors fit? The top protector is rounded off just like the screen, so it's nicely fit.
