The Stock cooler does its job but is a little noisier than most people would prefer. The Noctua NH-L9A-AMA is the recommended cooler for these small factor computers. Asrock deskmini owners are familiar with opening up and configuring the computer so it shouldn't be difficult to fit the cooler. I would say it is fairly easy if the instructions are followed and the job isn't rushed. I fitted the included low noise adaptor because my computing needs are small and i don't do gaming; thus the computer is never going to get very hot. After reassembly, the difference between old and new was a delight. The computer, which is I have vertically-positioned, is now silent. If I stick my ear right next to the exhaust side I can hear a very slight hum. otherwise - nothing. The temperature (linux 'sensors') is stable at around 30°C, slightly lower than previously. All-in-all a great buy at under £35 and I wish I had done this much earlier. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is now much easier to install *by C***L on 26 October 2020* Having read earlier reviews before purchase, I'd read how this item could be a little difficult to mount on the CPU. However, the design has been changed with the bars already fixed to align with the MB mounting holes. It was thus simple to install. I placed the cooler module upside down on bubble wrap (to protect the fan) and after applying the heat-sink compound onto the base of the cooler rather than the top of the CPU, I turned the mother board over and it was easy to locate the mounting holes to the arms of the device. Lowering the MB gently onto the cooler, it was then easy to screw the cooler against the CPU, thus providing a good seal. It works very well and, even under high CPU loads, is remarkably quiet.
