The BMI reference chart on the front is a little small, but functions as it should, showing you where you fall within the BMI scale. The increments on the tape itself are in CMs and Inches and are easy to read. However, unless you are a naturally bigger build/frame BMI is an entirely useless point of reference for you. The clip on the end of the tape allows you to measure yourself relatively easily (as you can operate it one handed), so this alone makes it considerably easier than trying to use a regular flexible (sewing) measure. It also has a ratchet lock on it, which kicks in automatically as you pull the tape out.
