The combs are incredibly beautiful to look at - real pieces of art. The smoothness of the wood, and the lovely grain are a delight. They feel gorgeous to hold, and they are so smooth on the hair. They definitely pull hair out far less than a hairbrush, and the fragrance is out of this world. Never before have I been seen sniffing combs, haha.In all, this comb is, like my previous purchase, a joy both to use and just to handle and look at. I doubt I'll ever use a plastic one again. I now find combing my hair is a really soothing thing to do.
