Review: Sonic pest repellant machine - Once connected to batteries the red light shines from the Repellant machine but it takes about 7+ days to become fully operational. (So it says in the instructions). Batteries last about 7 months apparently, so need to check them periodically. Our machine is up in the loft, we can’t hear any noises in the loft now so the sonic sound must be deterring the squirrel or birds that we hear periodically.
Review: Almost but not quite... - I have bought a number of these over time and find they work in enclosed spaces for mice, not sure about other rodents and certainly not squirrels. Not effective at all outside. I would advise more than one in a loft.

**Q: Is it ok to use in a loft if you have a dog in house**
A: I had 2 of these devices in my loft, my dog, cat and the mice I was trying to repell noticed nothing. This device wont affect your dog because it doesn't affect anything, save your money.

**Q: Would this work for rats in loft if placed flat inside the hatch.**
A: I found it to be utterly useless for mice in my loft. The rats would probably eat it...

**Q: PestBye Battery Operated Sonic Rat and Mouse Repeller - Ultrasonic Rat & Mouse Repellent. Is it suitable for outdoor use?**
A: This unit is suitable for use in sheds and other outbuildings but any such unit must be used within an enclosed area otherwise it will not function. The unit is not waterproof but if sheds have leaks the unit works from inside an open top plastic container with the top of the unit pointing outwards.

**Q: We have a rabbit that lives indoors, although not in the room where I would use the device. Would it affect her?**
A: I have no idea but they don't work anyway so I wouldn't bother
