I bought it because my teenage daughter was moaning about her two annoying verrucas, which had already been treated and were now nice and hard and waiting to be filed off. TMI, maybe, but this was my sole (sorry) reason for buying.If you're a parent who's ever had to cope with a child's verruca, you'll know the filing away part is REALLY fiddly and, most of the time, you just can't get all of it out. That's why a lot of people buy pedicure products like this one because the drill-like attachments are perfect for the job. If a treated verruca has turned hard after treatment, there shouldn't be any pain felt at all. Obviously, you DO have to treat a verruca first before trying to file it out. It MUST be hard.About the product itself...it was sent in a display box, along with all attachments shown and two soft draw-string bags. A small one to keep the little 'drill-bits' in and a bigger one that holds the main unit, the bigger rollers, the USB cable and the smaller bag with the little 'bits' in. They all fit in perfectly.We used this straight out of the box, without charging it at all. A bit naughty, I know, but my daughter was desperate to get her feet sorted out. No worries, though, as there was easily enough charge to last for the half an hour we spent messing about with it. At no point during that time did the power feel like it was lessening...and, I have to say, that power was far stronger than I'd expected.Yes, I know this is a bit more costly than the variety of low-priced, battery-operated hard skin removers that you can buy for a few pounds...so you'd be right to expect it to perform better, but it's not a top of the range product either...so I'm very impressed with the build quality and performance for the price.The instructions say to replace the abrasive roller with the smooth one before using the drill-type attachments. This is because that roller has a special way of fitting into the unit that enables the mechanism to rotate whichever tool you choose to push into the little hole on the side. This smooth roller does not spin. This is a really good idea, as it means you don't have to contend with a rolling file whilst your trying to use the smaller attachments. To clarify...there is ONE abrasive roller supplied with this unit. The other one pictured is a 'dummy'...not a buffer etc. The larger, creamy-coloured attachment is a buffer. The others offer various options of filing.The round button, visible on the front of the unit, is easy to press and operates on a three-press selection basis. In other words...press once for low-power filling, twice for high-power and once again to turn the unit off again. Simple.The box is now in the bin and the unit and attachments are nicely stored in the supplied draw-string bag. I really would recommend this to anyone who is umming and arring about buying a rickety little cheap one of these. This is sturdy and well worth the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compares well to similar products *by P***. on 25 November 2016* This Pedicure Hard Skin Remover by MY CARBON is another variation of the electronic foot file which has become so popular in the last few years. This model comes nicely packaged and has a variety of attachments for the removal of hard, dry skin, as well as shaping, smoothing and buffing nails.I Have been using an electronic foot file for some while now as I do a lot of walking and my feet tend to need callouses removed on a regular basis. The file that I have been using is the Scholl Velvet Electronic Foot File Scholl Velvet Smooth Diamond Pedi Extra Coarse Electric Hard Skin Remover so I can make some direct comparisons between these two machines.Of the two, in my opinion, the MY CARBON pedicure machine is ergonomically superior to the Scholl, it's small form factor means that it fits more comfortably into your hand and it is easier to hold when trying to access awkward to reach areas - it is also easier to pack away due to its more conventional shape. Another way in which I feel this product scores points over its branded rival is the fact that it has a re-chargeable battery which is always a plus as far as I'm concerned, makes it less weighty than its counterpart and reduces the risk of being caught without power.The MY CARBON machine uses smaller rollers than the Scholl but they feel similar in coarseness and they perform just as well with the additional benefit that you have two speed settings on the MY CARBON machine. The diamond crystal roller does a great job of removing hard skin but, particularly if you don't do it regularly, it can take a while to remove and you have to be careful not to overwork a particular area otherwise you can end up with very sore feet.Charging the 3.7V Li-ion battery is easily achieved via the included USB cable and an LED on the machine shows red whilst charging, changing to green when fully charged. I would suggest purchasing a better quality cable as the one supplied is a poor fit, causing excess pressure to be put onto the inlet port when connecting to the machine - I tried a different cable and it plugged in and pulled out of the micro USB port far easier than the one supplied.I did try the nail filing/smoothing attachments and they do appear to work if you can get them to lock into the nail polishing roller's spindle. This was a bit hit and miss though as there was no positive "click" to let you know if they were fully inserted or not, this meant that sometimes the attachments either did not rotate or, if they did, they stopped with the slightest pressure. I feel that the shaping/polishing heads probably won't last too long but they look very similar to the sets sold in pound stores for multi-tools and, if so, it would be no great problem to replace them as often as need be.Overall, I liked this small but reasonably powered machine as it performed its main function flawlessly.
