**Q: Would  this be good for a light blue 10-12 strand Dacron string**
A: It is for all Bow Strings very good stuff

**Q: Would Violin bow rosin work as well ?**
A: Violin rosin is very different in regards to texture compared to this wax, so I would not recommend it for an archery bow string. Also violin strings compared to archery bow strings are very different in material. But I have never used rosin on an archery bow string before, but I would careful using it as it might compromise the strings structure.
