It is also dependent upon the efficiency of the fan, motor & filters. It pays to clean the filters regularly, this is easily done in a dishwasher say, once a month if you are using the extractor every day. Hope this has helped. You could hold the hose in place with foil tape / gaffa tape or try and buy and male to male adaptor **Q: can i attach this straight onto existing hose or do I need a metal ring clip?** A: you will need to clip or tape in place at the 100mm end as this is a male fitting however the 150mm end is a female fitting and will not work with 150mm flexi hose - only solid PVC pipe as it will sit over the pipe **Q: Can i attach this to the kair 150mm y piece as the internal measurements for reducer are 147.30mm & external for y piece are 149.40mm?** A: I used the 150 reducer to come of a extractor Hood over a cooker which is 150mm and l attached it to a flexible pipe that went out though the kitchen wall which is 100 mm So it only works if one end is 150mm and the other end is 100mm ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect item *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 4 July 2026* Does the job ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fits perfectly for extractors. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 19 April 2023* We have an ageing 100mm extractor which extends through a very thick stone wall. 100mm used to be pretty common for small kitchens, but seems to be falling out of favour for a more standard 125mm which works better with tubing and cowls which are usually 125mm/150mm.If you need to connect a 100mm extractor/pipe to a 125mm cowl/external pipe you need a reducer/expander/adaptor (depending on your point of view).The machining of the reducer/expander plays very heavily into whether the part works well or just falls apart within hours of fitting. This reducer fits perfectly to both standard pipes that I got from other suppliers, as well as an extending pipe I got from Amazon.It was very satisfying and very easy to push onto the pipes, and the cowl slotted on perfectly without needing adhesive strips and it's been solid as a rock, surviving direct winds at 60+mph living on a hill during a storm.
