But you could use rice or dried peas as filling if you cannot find any other filling material. **Q: The bean bag is 22cms square, what is the thickness** A: The bean bag actually comprises of 2 x 22cm square bags stitched together. Depending how you squeeze them together / compress apply weight the thinest dimension is 7cm each so 14cm in total depth if you apply pressure like sitting on a cushion, if you apply pressure to the top then the depth of each bag expands to 10cm each so 20cm in total. The bags a firmly stitched together and only one of the bags has an opening for putting in the filling. 2 straps keep it all together and act as carry handles or as I use them connect to my belt with a carabiner clip. Would recommend this product, extremely light to carry yet great for supporting my Sigma 120-300mm Zoom, which is a pretty heavy lens. I also have the protective rain cover for this lens from the same supplier, again great value for money. Hope this helps.
