This converts a threaded fork - in a frame designed to take such - to use a bolt-on A-Head stem. The adapter will not help in fitting your threaded forks to your frame. **Q: Would this work as 1 1/8 I’m converting from an old quill stem** A: Yes, it will work with a 11/8th stem if you use a shim to increase the diameter of the top part of the adapter. These can be bought from most good online shops - M-Part do one in black but others are available. They cost (from memory) about £2 - £3. **Q: What is the height of the section where the stem attaches? Will I need spacers if the clamp height on my stem is 40mm?** A: I've used this with a Planet X 31.8 oversized stem. Note that this is the clamping diameter NOT the height of the clamp. I did need to get a shim adapter to clamp this stem onto the Deda quill stem adapter. Unless your stem is unusually high with the clamp this will be fine. **Q: The description is so confusing…is this a 1” to 1 1/8” adapter?** A: It is an awful description. I bought this wanting a 1" to1⅛" stem adaptor but received a 22.5mm to 1⅛" adaptor. When I re read the description ieorked out that this is 22.5mm and WILL FIT A 1" steerer with a shim (that they call a washer) I sent it back and bought what iactually needed.
