    Better than a pasload

Amazing gun for the price unbelievable power it has no problem with the 95mm nails even though hard wood it counter sinks to the full depth even through brick or concrete the build quality is second to non and it takes all brands of nails and gas. Easy to use and quick to reload.

The most annoying tool I have ever used!

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 May 2018*

This Hitachi nail gun is the most annoying tool I have ever used. I do not know if I just got a faulty one or this is the way they all are. The nail gun is just about fit for purpose but getting it going is such a hassle that I gave up and reach for the screws.I have a pneumatic Silverline 90mm framing nailer that I used for the past 2 years. I fired over 4000 nails with it and it did not jam or misfire once. About 5% 0f 90mm nails were not driven all the way in C24 structural wood. I was very pleased with it but thought I could do without the restriction of the airline.I bought this Hitachi mailer to get away from the compressor and the restrictive airline. I wanted so much for this to work well but using the Hitachi was hell right from the beginning:• The instructions are a joke (a series of vague photographs that do not show the detail you need).• It only works with Hitachi gas, that is hard to find and 3 times more expensive• The batteries are very hard to remove (pressing the release pad and pulling does not release the battery; you have to press, pull and wiggle to eventually get them out). One of the two batteries is especially hard to remove.• Batteries will not charge unless shaved hard into the charger to make contact• If you leave the battery in the gun overnight, it is discharged by the morning. This is annoying and made worst by the hard to remove batteries. As far as performance with 90mm nails goes, the Hitachi is not even close to a pneumatic mailer. I have used the Hitachi to drive about 50, 90mm nails into C24 structural wood. The issues were as follows:• The gun refused to work 4 times in 50 nails. Inspection showed no mechanical problems. Each time I had to remove the nail strip and refit it to make it work. There was no mechanical jam.• Twice the fan was going continuously and the gun did not fire; I had to wait for the fan to stop (about 20 seconds) before it could fire again.• 20% of nails were not driven in all the way in• 1 nail was driven in only 20mm and the gun gave a nasty kickback• General nailing power lower than an air nailerUsing this gun is so much hassle that I’ll gladly put up with the compressor and airline of my Silverline pneumatic nailer.

    No free gas

A really handy tool would have given it five stars but no trial gas or nails so now will buy gas and nails from any company as long as they fit(no brand loyalty
