Review: Love the 4K version - This review is for the 4K UHD set. The movies themselves don't need my review as there are plenty around. All I want to say is that if you are considering upgrading to this 4K versions these versions are totally worth it. Previous BD releases of the first two films left a lot to be desired, while this ones are not perfect, they are very good. Difference is night and day when compared to the old blurays and DVDs. Tomb of the Emperor is the one that least benefits from the upgrade not only because the bluray was fairly good to start with but also this 4k version is not that fantastic so here we have the reverse effect. On bluray it has the best picture quality of the three but on 4k is the worst of the three. I would like to clarify, I have given this set 5 stars after taking into consideration that previous releases of these movies were only available with a picture quality that always left to be desired. This set is also very good value for money, the movies while not being sensational do provide good entertainment and have been a classic in this kind of genre for a fairly long time. Movie wise rating I would give to the first two movies 4 stars and for the last one 3stars. I only mention them as they are the only 2 cast members to appear in all 3 movies. Great set, it's a pity they didn't make the boxset like others into a set. Thats my only gripe with it, instead it's in 3 individual boxes. The first 2 movies alone are value for the price of the set, both are high action and contain great moments throughout. The worst one, still watchable mind, is the "Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". I'm not saying it's a bad movie, but this genre shouldn't have moved away from Egypt.
