I used thin double sided foam tape to hold the latches and hooks in place while I drilled holes for the sheet metal screws that were included. The sheet metal screws should work fine in wood as well. Drilling pilot holes is recommended in either case. I cut excess foam tape off with a razor blade. The stainless steel matches other chrome fittings on the oven and the latches look like they belong there.
