I normally wear a 7 3/4 hat size and thought the Large/XL would be a good fit, but it was much too large and it sat really far down my brow. The Medium/Large fit MUCH BETTER. The Medium/Large one is a tiny bit snug, but better than the Large/XL since it sits further up on my head. The Large/XL was returned and was super fast and easy with Amazon. This hat keeps me warm in the Alaska winters when flying airplanes on the tundra when lesser beanies and fleece caps don't work. As for size, I have a fairly large head and wear a 7 5/8 fitted ball cap, so I bought a L/XL size. The hat fits great in circumference, but someone would need to have a cone-head to make this fit correctly for depth.
