After trying it out the water stops coming out of the passageway because the cup is getting heavier. I'm pretty impressed with the design. Will need to rinse cups occasionally if you place them low to ground like I did. Chickens took right to them and very little mess or waste. I ended up making a second backup water-er with them after one of the chickens decided to try to roost on them, which resulted in a flood and emptying of the first. The second system leaked, so used some sandpaper and plastic resin to fuse them to the bucket. My chooks got the hangof this right away.
