Review: Very impressed, makes a hotel room much more secure - Having used this on a recent trip where I was concerned about hotel security (work booked the hotel, not me.....) The hotel was extremely warm with no fan or air con (available from the hotel at a ridiculous price!) There were plenty of windows at ground level, but these were sliding windows with no locking mechanism - so they were either open or closed! I used this locking bar to prop the window open so I got some fresh air at night. I know this is supposed to be for patio doors, but it worked just as well diagonally across the window (it wouldn't fit horizontally - so make sure you have a fiddle) The bar appears to be made of strong steel with no flex whatsoever. If you have this securing a door or a window, no one is coming into your room! The downside is, this makes it fairly heavy if you are trying to pack this to take on a plane (about 1.5kgs!). I normally travel light so for me it's not a problem, but you might want to make some room if you plan on taking this. The other thing to consider is the length. This fitted easily into a normal size suitcase, but if you have a small case, then it might not fit. I did NOT receive this at a discount, I bought this like a normal person. **Q: would this work on a door that opens out?**
A: No, the stick needs to be placed on side of the door that comes towards you when it is opened.

**Q: what is the smallest and largest gap it will fit into for patio door?**
A: 64cms and 107 cms
Flexible foot on one end makes it good fit but will be at angle and not completely horizontal

**Q: Will this completely stop anyone being able to open a front door?**
A: My opinion is that it would stop someone getting into your property.  It’s simple to use and unless someone broke glass and got their hands in and struggled to dislodge it, then it works to hold the door closed against terrific weight pushing and barging on the opposite side.  I haven’t had a break in or attempted one, but l feel very confident that in the worse scenario the strong pole will hold even if a criminal tried to force it for half an hour.   Even ten minutes gives time to phone the police for help, but thugs won’t stick around if they can’t kick a door in within 2-4 minutes.   I recommend it!

**Q: Can it be used on a tiled floor - will it slip?**
A: Not sure. The end that would go on the floor does have a rubber grip on it though.

A simple but very affective product.I would have had it delivered a day earlier but I was out but it I am very impressed with how quickly it did come. my only criticism is it could be a touch longer when fully extended. But thats minimal.I read all reviews and the positive of people giving 4/5 stars is well deserved. I live alone in a first floor flat and am very security conscious so I pride myself on getting the best...doesn't look flimsy , cheaply made..it just looks very well designed and made indeed. The price is marvellous for what you get...gives me great peace of mind. .
