Before I bought this unit Im bought a unit that was only 60mm. It didn't work. This unit is sleeker looking and also is universal, what a great concept. Once I got it installed and got everything programmed it worked great! It comes default with sounds all the way on but it is pretty easy to mute it (again, in the instructions). I wish it were as easy as waving the card in front of the lock but they added an extra step. Still, a time saver when trying to get in the house with four kids. Make sure you don't lock your bottom lock as well. Bottom line, if you are looking for an rfid door lock, this is your product! The Sunnect was heavier and, I believe a more robust lock than this Samsung. I am not sure if heavier means it's stronger though; we had someone shoulder our door in and the cage portion of the Sunnect Deadbolt was destroyed (since Sunnect is apparently out of business - they aren't answering their phone or emails - I couldn't replace this part). Although lighter, the Samsung seems to have hard metal where it counts. Daily Use Compared to the Sunnect, the Samsung is nicer to use on a daily basis. For example, instead of sliding a metal plate up to punch in numbers on an awkward keypad, the Samsung has a digital touch pad which makes entering the code faster and more convenient. Installation The hard part about the Samsung is the installation. The metal base-plate which is installed on the inside of the door has a mechanical geometry that causes the motor (that unlocks the deadbolt) to be stressed if it's tightened too much. It needs to be adjusted just right to maintain the (relatively) friction free sliding of the deadbolt to the lock and unlock position. This could be improved in the design if the interior base-plate were stronger and less susceptible to bending, which contorts the mechanical action of some metal pieces that work together to rotate the deadbolt. Also, compared to the Sunnect, the interior panel could be more robust in build quality - it's plastic unlike the Sunnect, which was made of hard metal. On the other hand, the unit hugs the door nicely on both sides - better than the Sunnect did. The Alarm on the Samsung is louder than that on the Sunnect. I would highly recommend that you look into Door Jamb Armor (Armor Concepts) if you are concerned with individuals kicking or shouldering-in your door. Doesn't last. *by S***N on March 9, 2017* Extremely poor quality. The concept is great. As others stated it was not the easiest installation but I was able to get it installed. I loved having the multiple profiles. I loved having both fobs and codes. I just replaced the battery after 3 years. I knew going into it this would not connect via WiFi or Bluetooth but that's fine because of everything else. This gets one star for one reason, it has weathered so poorly in 3 years that it is almost unusable. The plastic is so scratched up that you can barely make out the numbers day or night. The only reason i can use the keypad is because i have a feel for where the numbers are. We do not have kids who abused the device, just my wife and I. I plan to reach out to Samsung to see if they will do something for me but have doubts given the 3 years that have gone by. I would not buy this. As another reviewer said - this should have been glass.
