It's my magical cure all.I suffer from two chronic illnesses which both involve a lot of chronic pain, and about a year back I was looking for something to help detox / relieve pain. I was skeptical about salt baths actually helping but for me they really do work. I've bee using them for a long time and actually feel the salt has been helping me a fair amount. I also use two other salts for bathing; Dead Sea and Epsom and they are also great for detoxing but they do not have this pain relieving affect that Himalayan has. I just feel far less tense and more relaxed after using it.I wish I could order a Tonne of this stuff because I use it about 2-3 times a week in large quantities when I have it in the house, which isn't for long and always forget to re-order :( For me, it almost instantly relieves my pain slightly, and for me any relief is a godsend so this is a miracle. It kind of changes the density of the water and the hardness too, for me at least, which makes the actual bathing a lot more pleasant. I do find I sweat out my water weight easily too (which I'm careful to replenish with fresh and large quantities of water after bathing). I can't attest to any other weight loss benefits other than helping you sweat out toxins and water weight, though, and that's not why I'm using the salts.I will say, if you are unwell and using this salt don't run your bath too hot or sit in it for longer than about 20 mins, especially at first. Crack a window slightly so you have fresh air and aren't too overwhelmed by steam and heat. Also make sure you drink some water before, and a lot of water gradually, after you get out. Take a little time to rest after the bath too. I'm a lot more used to salt baths now, but at first they were a little overwhelming - they are really quite powerful, to me at least, with my conditions,I really don't know why I hadn't tried using salts before, in particular Himalayan, considering I've cooked with it before and know about its benefits. My skepticism is now gone and it makes perfect sense to me that salt baths work so well, because obviously the minerals etc are absorbed via your skin, which help me immensely, not to mention the other various health benefits of using Himalayan salt.The 2KG bag lasts me a few weeks and is good value, especially if you have Prime for free delivery. It's decent quality, and lovely colouring. This salt is just incredible; I also use the Himalayan Salt lamps and I find they too help me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heard some good things about Himalayan pink salt in place of normal ... *by A***I on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 January 2015* Heard some good things about Himalayan pink salt in place of normal table/rock salt, so bought this and then worried (like others here) that I hadn't bought food grade salt because of the packaging's instructions telling you how to dissolve it in a bath and its precautions telling you not to use it on broken skin etc. However, in the bottom line of the tiny print of the instructions it does say "For consuption [sic] use as required for taste" and with Sandie's very helpful review from 19 March relaying Westlab's assurances that it is pure salt suitable for eating, I have filled my salt grinder with this pretty salt and everyone has been admiring it! Tastes like normal salt, nice chunky granules too, not fine as in another review.P.S. Just emailed Westlab to be doubly doubly sure and their customer service manager told me "All our himalayan Salt is food grade salt and can be used for both bathing and eating." ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not what I expected *by C***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 August 2012* Firstly, the delivery wasn't too prompt.
