Having used credit card protectors for a couple of years now I was looking for replacements as my old ones that were falling apart (old style thin silver ones) so I thought I would try these - They are made of a ‘plastic’ feeling material – The covers themselves are a snug fit for my cards but I presume they will ‘give a little’ with use – From a female point of view though I have to say I struggle to get the card out of the cover when it’s in the card slot of my purse as it’s such a tight fit (as they are such a good product I may have to source a new purse instead!!) I also got the passport covers but haven’t had chance to try them out whilst travelling yet – Overall an excellent product giving peace of mind from a security point of view – Great value for money – would recommend

**Q: What frequencies do they block?**
A: Hi Don, Thank you kindly for your question. Please note our RFID Blocking Sleeves protect 100% fully against high frequency radio signals operating at 13.56MHz, which credit cards and passport smart chips operate at. Please note they are not designed to operate for low frequency signals such as 125KHZ, which are typically used for office workplace & key cards (older cards). **Q: Why do you need a sleeve for your passport? I thought you only needed them for the cards that have the microchips?**
A: Yes you need them for your card with microchips. Biometric in passports also uses RFID.. So you need to have RFID blocker to prevent identity theives from getting your personal information. 

**Q: Can you write on the sleeve with a permanent marker?**
A: I used a Gel Pen to write on my sleeves.  However, it took quite awhile for it to dry.  Better idea: there's a small white square in the upper right corner of the sleeve and I put 1 letter in there as a shorthand for the credit card in the sleeve.

**Q: what are the dimensions of the credit card sleeves? In inches please?**
A: I measured from the top of the curves on these (to allow you to grab the card in the middle and not have to dig into the sleeve to get your card out) and the credit card sleeve is just under 3.5" in length and width is exactly 2.25".  Passport sleeve measures 5.25" in length and slightly over 3.75" in width.

Yippee … Yes Alpine Rivers ‘RFID Blocking Sleeve’ credit card covers really do work – I tried to use a contactless card reader with the cover still on my card and I was very pleased to find the machine couldn’t read my card!!! Cards fit well, as does the passport. So useful when you just want to take one card out with you. Fits in your pocket and you know the card is safe. Very good, high quality items. Well made and strong, as well as looking good. My credit cards slide inside the sleeves easily, and then fit into my credit card wallet snugly without creating too much extra bulk. My passport fits easily into the passport sleeve. I have no way of knowing if these sleeves protect my cards & passport from being illegally scanned, and I hope I never have to find out, but due to the build quality, I have every reason to believe they will perform exactly as described & provide a high level of protection.I would definitely recommend these sleeves to others as a sensible security measure for extra peace of mind.
