A: Yes it will

**Q: Can you record while connected to mains power?**
A: Yes, no problem recording with just power cable attached and no power pack in.

**Q: Can you plug an external microphone?**
A: There is no audio input, only a headphone output.

**Q: Is it compatible with a Mac?**
A: I guess that it is compatible with a Mac in that it does not normally connect directly with any computer! When you use it you record onto a standard SD Card (which is formatted FAT 32) and the files are MST video files. You then take out the card and put it in a card reader attached to your Mac computer.

The camera works very well. Well worth it. Canon designs things well. Even the fact the the battery is out, it doesn't heat up as much, looks interesting, but works very well. Battery has a long life as well.It took a week longer than the last date that we were suppose to get it by. Too bad we missed filming 2 Tide Line gigs:(

This camcorders great very good picture quality and built in features it's got a powerful zoom, the battery last a long time unlike other camcorders and its lite to carry about with you. You cannot put a separate microphone on it but the built in mic picks up perfect sound. It features fast and slow motion and l like this for hill and cloud shots.
