## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these ok for use on a resonator?**
A: No. 12s are much too light in my view, especially when your reso is tuned to open D or Open G. Heavy strings (15-56) tuned D or G will make it sing and are designed to come up to pitch lower tensioned. I've tried Martin's reso strings but NewTone Strings, Michael Messer National Phos Bronze are tops. :-)

**Q: Would these be suitable for an old resonator guitar?**
A: After looking at the Martin string catalogue I would say that Retro strings are NOT suitable for a Resonator guitar.
Their catalogue does, however, show that for a Resonator guitar their "CLASSICAL STRING - Nickel wound" is suitable and their reference for those is Model number M980 (16 - 56 gauge) with a tension of 172.8.  The RETRO strings, which I have myself, are for normal wooden acoustic guitars.
