We made some faux leather pouches for a Mandalorian costume and the smell went away. I think it is just a temporary thing. **Q: Is it difficult to get the fold creases out of this fabric?** A: It wasn’t difficult at all. Just leave it flat for a couple days or lay something heavy (that won’t leave indentations) on it. It feels like a soft vinyl, which is a nice faux leather look. Given the sheen, I thought it would be water repellent… NOPE! After a couple of moths exposed to elements, the top layer peeled away and invited mold.
