The OBD version easily plugs into your OBD port (vehicles manufactured after 1996) and the WIRED device is hard-wired into your vehicle with three simple wires (ground, constant power, and ignition). The WIRED version is more difficult to remove from the truck if you are looking for something that is more anti-theft prevention.
