A fragrance lamp (also known as a Catalytic Lamp, Effusion Lamp of Diffusion Lamp) comprises of a decorative vase/vessel, catalytic stone/wick assembly, snuffer cap and decorative crown. This is a replacement stone/wick assembly for use in a small Ashleigh and Burwood Fragrance Lamp. The natural cotton wick draws the fragrance up to the stone while the stone assembly is made up of two parts, an outer and inner section. The outer part is coated with platinum to act as the catalyst and purifies the air of bad smells, bacteria, dust mites and mould spores. The inner part of the stone allows Ashleigh and Burwood Lamp Fragrances to be effectively diffused into the air without the scent notes of the fragrance being burnt off or changed. **Q: Not sure if I have a small lamp or a large lamp. Does anyone know the lamp measurements?**
A: I had the same problem, bought a large and small , I prefer the large but small work fine also, my lamp measurements are 14cm high to the top of the lid and 28cm diameter .
**Q: If I want to change the fragrance can I wash the wick ?**
A: You can either just mix the fragrance for a while or use the neutral fragrance to effectively wash the wick. It will get rid of the old fragrance before using your new one so there isn't any mixing. You can't wash it with water.
**Q: How long should you leave the wick alight before placing the crown?**
A: How to use your lamp
- Stand your Lamp on a spill-resistant surface. Remove the snuffer-cap and stone/wick assembly. Using your funnel, fill your Lamp 2/3rd full with one of Ashleigh & Burwood’s Lamp Fragrances. Always keep the Lamp upright when filled to prevent spillage.
- Insert the stone/wick assembly into the lamp. Cover the stone with the snuffer-cap and allow the wick to soak for 20-30 minutes. If the stone is not covered the Lamp Fragrance will evaporate.
- Place your Lamp on a heat resistant surface, away from combustible materials. Remove the snuffer-cap and light the stone. Ensure the stone is sat firmly in the neck of the Lamp before lighting. Never leave a burning Lamp unattended.
- Blow out the flame after 2-3 minutes and place the decorative crown over the hot stone. Never cover the open flame with the crown or snuffer-cap.
- Enjoy the purifying benefits of your Fragrance Lamp for up to 30 minutes. The stone will remain hot (without a flame) as it continues to draw fragrance through the wick.
- After 30 minutes, ‘turn-off’ your Lamp by removing the decorative crown (Caution – it may be hot) and cover the hot stone with the snuffer-cap. This will stop the catalytic process and prevent the Lamp Fragrance from evaporating when the Lamp is not
in use.
**Q: Can I get a replacement for the decorative top off burner ?**
A: You mean the protective crown? Unfortunately we have no replacement crowns.
