About 20cm **Q: Does it work on wadrobes** A: If there are two handles it will work on anything **Q: What diameter handle will it go around?** A: I've actually passed them on now but I would guess about 1-1.5 cm only as the picture seems to show. Also check that the handles are not too far apart. The device does extend to 4 or 5 inches i think. When it fits it works fine, but it is limited by its dimensions. **Q: Does the lock fall away from the door handle when it is opened? In other words do you have to refit it every time? Thanks** A: You have to physically open the lock and take it off manually but very easy to refit.ideal for me as I have no little ones all the time so they can easily be removed when not needed.
