This is a major undertaking. The tire cost was ~ $35. I eventually had to take it to a tire shop to get the "bead" to set and hold some air. At the end of the day the tire never did hold air for more than a day. I was able to replace the entire rear wheel assembly in under an hour and the scooter is as good as new. This is a very simple job. I would recommend replacing the battery cover screws when this is done. They have a tendency to get worn down over time and it can be difficult to get a good hold on some of the screw heads. This is well worth the additional $70 to just replace the entire rear wheel assembly.
