## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this have a switched overide? also If you cut power to it does it lose it's settings?**
A: I have no idea about the actual wiring, but an electrician wired ours up so that it works in conjunction with typical 2-way switches - one either end of a corridor. This means that you can force an override on - simply change the switch at either end of the corridor. If both switches are in the 'off' position, then the Steinel works as if it was directly wired into the mains. I.e. it comes on a dusk, does its automatic switch off around 1 a.m. and comes on again for around an hour before dawn. This is a great set up, because if you are up and about for any reason at 3 a.m. you can force the light on by changing the position of one of the switches at either end of the corridor (and switch it off again at the far end as you leave the corridor). But there is no way to switch if off completely, so no nasty, 'did I remember to set it so it will come on as a security measure while I am away?', moment when you are halfway to an airport. You can force the light to be on, but there is no switch combination that will stop it working as a secrity device.

**Q: Can I turn off the night energy saving mode so the light stays on all night and turns off in sunlight ?**
A: Turn the dial inside fully anti-clockwise. If you have a newer version it will "tick" every 7 mins. ie flicker the lights. Steinel deny this problem though.

**Q: if i install a switch before the photocell to isolate when not needed will the photocell keep needing to reset itself or will it "remember" its settin**
A: This "electrician" is wrong. It should be on a Double Pole isolator and fed via an RCD by law.

**Q: Is this ok for outdoors IP66 rating**
A: I have been using these devices for about 20 years. Over that time I have had one fail out of the 3 I purchased. 2 of the 3 are set up outdoors on external walls, one facing north and one east, with no protection from eaves etc. I would rate them as very reliable.
