Packaging was in good condition. On un-packing I took cover off to check mechanism. All bolts were adequately tightened and the mechanism was adequately greased. I read a review from France that said it was dangerous and the pin holding the lift hook had fallen out/failed. I checked all pins thoroughly and although there were no problems but I am not sure I would take this block to it's lifting limits. I always back up the hook with a 2500kg kevlar strop in case it fails. So far lifted 500kg repeatedly with ease. This block is not going to win any awards, but it is well made and exceptionally good value.
