                        Peter Bently studied languages at Oxford. He lives in the writer-filled town of Totnes with his wife and a perfect ready-made audience of two young children. He enjoys visiting schools and sharing his writing. Inspired by living close to the sea, THE SHARK IN THE DARK is Peter's first picture book for Macmillan. Ben Cort studied illustration at Harrow College.     Very sweet story, appealing to all ahes

My children both love this story and I really like it too. It has a nice message and the way it is written makes it really enjoyable to read. The illustrations are lovely and colourful and it is really nice quality printing and paper. We like this so much it is our second copy, the first got read so many times it fell apart!

My son is mad on sharks so got this for him for our bedtime story - he loves it! He is 4 years old and loves the story, the illustrations and of course the shark. I knew I couldn't go wrong with this book for him.Read it every day/night since getting it and cant see him getting tired of it anytime soon even though I am!

My son loves this book. Even asked to read this over TV. The illustrations are bright and vibrant. And the story has a fierce shark in it (what more can a boy ask for?). It also has a message about working together to overcome problems.
