Oxblood ink is probably the closest colour you will get to writing in blood without draining your arm! ive used this ink through a couple of Jinhao fountain pens and a Pilot Parallel and it has performed perfectly all the time, with smooth flow, good cleaning and great colour. The ink starts as a deep,dark red with a hint of brown, and will dry into deep red wine coloured burgundy. Shading isnt great unless youre using a very wide nib and good paper but you can get some.
