It is also not a heavy cleaver, it is a rather light, thin, and wide bladed, chopper/slicer. It feels well-balanced. I think if there were an addition blade length of 1” the balance would be off. What I like most is the handle - full tang, and I have large hands, this handle is very comfortable to grip. I do have some minor, unfounded concerns about this blade - thin, brittle? The point is excellent but not reinforced. I bought this chiefly for stir-fry and related preps.
