The instructions are non existant but a little imagination facilitates the gate being put in place. NOTE, have someone handy, it is nigh on impossible to hold the gate in place, (level and square) and tighten into place. The gate I was supplied is well constructed. A good solid piece of kit. Decent quality metal, robust, well finished. There are no sharp edges or means, that I can see that could cause an injury. The gate is opened by means of pressing a sliding button forward where the thumb would naturally be placed at the same time as pulling the lever type grip with the fingers of the same hand. Imagine grasping a pole. The fingers being the underside pull up the lever and free thumb pushes a button on the top. The lever lifts a notch from the bottom of the gate. The lever releases a notch at the top of the gate. Both have to be released to allow the gate to open. A very simple but effective design. The anchoring points, top and bottom, which I have referred to as notches is really quite good. I bought mine to stop a puppy but would be happy with this in place for my kids when they were babes. Make sure it is all tightened properly as it first appears to be out of true. As it is tightened, you see the shape pushed back into place, this allows the notches etc referred to to engage. A solid 5/5. The only real criticism being the lack of instructions as there are a number of people who would struggle to join two pieces of lego together. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well and easy to fit *by D***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 22 January 2017* Works well and easy to fit.The original delivery had a part missing but amazon were really good and got a replacement to us in a couple of days with an apology for the inconvenience. The replacement was good and being a "one handed" gate it's great when you have the little one in one hand and leaves the other to open up and get you through. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good gate BUT still needs holes in wall *by C***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 30 March 2013* Bought pressure fix gate in order to avoid making holes in the wall or bannister supports.The instructions ask you to screw some shallow cups to the wall in order to stop the fixing points moving.
