Review: Good quality for the price - Good sturdy frame. Easy to build on my own and took no time at all. My only concern is that the mdf tops aren’t very strong and there’s no cross bracing to support them in the middle. Can this be created?** A: I'm sure it could be done. The angled metal is strong and quite thick so if you can drill the holes, it must be possible. It's a very sturdy item. I replaced the shelves with decking and I have it outside as a potting table. **Q: Is this strong enough to use on my patio to put pots on the shelves for vegetables?** A: The workbench should be strong enough for holding pots or trays of vegetables. One thing to note however is the mdf used for the top and shelf is not very thick, and would not last long subjected to wet conditions. I strengthened my bench top with plywood and it is quite sturdy now. **Q: what's the thickness of the mdf top? Thanks** A: The MDF is 1 cm thick.
