This one is simple on/off button and cut off when the water reservoir is empty so you add water based on the time you need it. Boiling eggs works as expected following the instructions, be sure to pierce the egg as instructed. For poaching, it takes a bit of experimenting with the timings. What I found that work so far is to grease the tray with butter, and use eggs in room temperature. Then adjust the timing to suit.
