They really cut down on both the volume and the noxiousness of wind. If that's your problem, I recommend them without reservation. But don't just pop one occasionally when you know you've eaten something naughty: take them regularly, twice a day, and expect to wait a week or so before the full effect kicks in.Everyone's digestion is different. If these capsules don't help you, don't give up on the idea of probiotics altogether. Try several brands until you find one that works well for you.If your problem is urgency (and you can't take, say, chocolate or caffeine), see your doctor, who will be able to prescribe something to increase gut transit time.If you can't take fat (in, say, fish and chips), a doctor can prescribe a medicine for that, too.If you find you can't take insoluble fibre (wholemeal bread, peas, sweetcorn, apples, etc.) without clearing the building, trying taking a good 500mg turmeric supplement once a day. But get a good brand, not a cheapo knock-off: if you don't get a distinct flavour of turmeric when you burp, you're not getting any turmeric.Some people also find that a daily dose of Vitamin D calms things down. But keep well below the safe limit; excessive amounts of D are toxic. Do your research first, and stay safe. I wouldn't be without any of them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Used to create sour beer - seems like a good clean source of lacto p. *by D***O on 1 May 2018* Firstly, I did not buy these as a gastrointestinal supplement so apologies if this review is somewhat leftfield.I purchased these as I was looking for a clean source of lacto planterum to create sour beer using the ‘kettle souring’ method. Sour beer is created by adding bacteria, such as lacto, to wort (liquid containing the sugars extracted from grains). As a homebrewer, it was important to me to get a clean source without any other yeast or bacteria that might start fermenting my beer. I had previously tried with some gastrointestinal supplements from the high street that contained several strains of lacto, but found that wild yeast started fermenting my beer and creating butylic acid (which is really not a good thing).I’m pleased to report that these pills have done an excellent job and after 48 hours my wort had reached the desired ph of 3.3. Please note that I did add lactic acid before pitching the lacto planterum. I used 10 pills for about 13 litres. I also pulled apart the pills, shook out the powder, and rehydrated in some wort before dumping into the kettle. I didn’t purge with CO2 as I don’t have the equipment to do so, but I did use clingfilm to make sure my kettle was well sealed.So, any other homebrewers that have read about lacto p. from all the yanks pitching goodbelly – this is a good source as far as I can tell, and ideal for creating clean sours in the berlinner weisse style. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Supports gut flora *by L***N on 21 October 2022* I use the product to try and balance my gut flora.
