Previously I'd pay top dollar for Arai and Shoei helmets, those helmets are $1000 now. I was looking for value this time around, let's face it, what saves your head is the foam lining in the helmet. Any helmet is finished after 1 crash. Rule of thumb is to replace the helmet every 5 years, are you gonna do that with a $1000 helmet? Anyway, about this helmet: it's light but sturdy, it fits well - a little hard around the edges at first for me around the forehead but it's broken in and comfortable now after a few days; I love the integrated sun visor; I like the easy release chin strap. Negatives: the rubber breath shield kept falling out and I've lost it - I've contacted AHR and asked for a replacement; because of the nice quick release chin strap, there's no D-ring to lock into the bikes helmet lock (but I prefer the quick release). I have to say I went down HARD about 40MPH off road.... this helmet held up VERY well. I messed up my leg and a shoulder... I smacked my head on the ground ... the helmet too the blow and didn't even leave me with a headache! I am VERY grateful for the protection this helmet provided. My helmet camera broke and my bike had to be brought home on a truck... but I am totally fine! Thank you so much for the value and protection this helmet provides. It is not the most scratch resistant and I had to get the face shield on properly as it was not from the factory, but if you look at it you will see how it should go and it is great after that! Again, thank you so much for an affordable and durable product. I was absolutely amazed that I didn't even end up with a headache as I am pretty susceptible to them. I will be buying another one to replace this one. It didn't take much damage... mostly cosmetic but for the price it is worth replacing to ensure a proper level of protection.
