It’s very easy to assemble (minimal assembly required) and is extremely sturdy. It has a wide, comfortable seat and is very well made - it’s a really good-looking, well designed high quality seat. Being solid teak it’s water resistant, and is easy to care for. Highly recommended! Review: Quality costs but lasts - I hesitated but now it has arrived, I have no regrets. Even the box and packing are as superior to normal boxes, as the stool is to other stools (thick solid cardboard, interior foam molding and box side adhesive cushions; rattle free). This really stands out. It comes disassembled but the 6 long hex screws are easy to fit with the provided alan key, though I had a longer one of my own to speed things up even more. It is very stable and has reassuring 'heft' and finish. The fittings, overall thickness and density, are as you'd exect at this price point. I'd think an annual teakoiling will be sensible but it needs nothing the first year. This is a very substantial, solid teak, curved-not-molded elegant seat, water resistant, suitable for shower rooms (useful to clean your feet, shower safely or sit and dry your hair). It's easy to lift but heavy at 8kg (17.5 lbs). The 4 heavy duty rubber feet are +/- 10mm height adjustable. An investment that will last. It shows its quality at a glance. It'll suit a (larger) shower, wet room or even a muddy porch. You should consider the space availble carefully: The 300x450mm (12x18") seat takes more space that you might instinctively think for a mere stool. It'd not be ideal to sit on it's short side due to its curve. At 45cm (18") high it is slightly higher than shorter people might find easy for long sits. Have treated it only 4 times with teak oil and it looks like the day we bought it. It's directly under the shower stream in a tiled bath stall with slightly sloped floor. Has held up extremely well and I never dry it off or pamper it. Just drains or evaporates dry. Very stable, heavy and beautiful. Read somewhere that bar soap can leave film on wood, so we switched to liquid body wash. No more "cloudiness" on the teak. **Q: I assume the stool is 18 in. high, 18 in. wide and 12 in. deep?** A: I have the stool and yes, it is approx 18"high, 18"wide and 12" deep. I say approx b/c the top swoops. At lowest a bit under and at highest a bit over. Also, I have the solid top, not the slated one as pictured. **Q: I received a teak bench without any hardware. What is required to assemble it?** A: Me, too. No bolts, no allen wrench, no assembly directions. Took two phone calls and two and a half weeks to resolve. I would suggest you call Aqua Teak as soon as your order is confirmed and insist that they open your box and check for fasteners before shipment. Love the bench, hate the hassle. **Q: This cannot be solid teak. A veneer? You can clearly see different pieces of wood have been glued together to make larger pieces, in/on the legs.** A: All of our products are 100% solid teak and and not any type of veneer in any way.
