My favourite head. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Top Quality *by D***N on 13 October 2025* Very happy with product AllGood ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, but make sure it's what you need. *by J***R on 25 January 2015* Was looking for a replacement head on a birch snare drum previously fitted with a Remo Ambassador. I had used the Evans Dry before on another (albeit steel) snare drum with good results. This was going at a very good price but I was a little worried that it might be too dry being the HD Dry version (this has a thin underlay of dampening material - a bit like an "O" ring) fitted underneath the head as well as the small vent holes around the perimeter. Needn't have worried though, as (coupled with a new Evans glass 500 head on the snare side) I got a very nice focussed sound which suits my playing & the music genre . I'm not a fan of moongel or other external dampeners, so this head has met expectations. Probably more suited to pop/rock music than (say) light jazz or quiet styles, and would seem to be a good choice for recording or close-miking up.
