This is where the harbour tug boats come into their own, take over command and tow these gigantic ships safely alongside the quay. These small, robust but very manoeuverable boats have very powerful engines developing from 250 to thousands of horsepower. The bridge is designed as a high superstructure to give them a good panoramic view, that will enable them to do their job properly and navigate a safe passage through the confined space of the harbour. Yes, it needs polystyrene cement. I would recommend Tamiya 87038 Extra Thin Cement. Traditional polystyrene cement is very thick, and it can be hard to make a tidy joint with it. You also need to provide rigging thread for the masts and the lifeboat, but I guess you could omit it. Likewise, this kit looks a lot better painted (the whole model is in bright red plastic) for which you need about ten different acrylic paints; again, Tamiya paints are ideal and the paint numbers are on the side of the box. **Q: Finished Size** A: box size 35.1 x 21.2 x 4.4 cm sothe length is going to be about 34cm **Q: Can this be used in the water** A: I bought this model way back in 1963 when it was motorized and fitted with gears. Mine floated in the bath no problem ! It was called Tugboat Long Beach back then.
