I would add that I like the grey colour better seems to make it look smaller too. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not a 'fryer', it's far more versatile than that... *by G***M on 10 June 2018* I think that the negative reviews are largely based on the expectation that this product is a 'fryer' like the Tefal Actifry, which tumbles the food in a small amount of oil. This doesn't. It's a totally different process. Some discontent is voiced as this is basically a very small fan oven... and it is. The difference lies in the sheer power and pressure of the heat and fan in a small area, it blasts the food with super heated air which goes under the food and is forced up around the food in a vortex. If there is any oil present, the food will fry and fry evenly. otherwise it is baked at high power and speed. My first experiment, probably like many others was to make chips, from real potatoes. They were a bit like oven baked wedges, but far far faster. I wasn't impressed and put it back in the box... I tried again, using frozen scampi. Unbelievably good, puffed up, super crispy and moist inside... OK, this was better than being 'fried' and was faster than the instructions suggested... Chicken Kiev - same result, super crispy and perfectly cooked and unlike the oven, the garlic butter stayed firmly inside! I was on a roll, Fish fingers, crispy and perfect. More like fried than oven baked. Stuffed peppers...stack neatly into the basket and taste amazing in no time... Cauliflower cheese... in a bowl, the air fryer blasts it to perfection in minutes. Fried chicken... don't get me started, just coated some chicken, spritzed with oil and put in the fryer... perfect in no time, crispy and moist. Frozen chips are way better than in the oven... not black on one side and dry, they do taste fried, but are dryer due to the lack of oil. And take far less time. I've now discovered that bake in the tray foods can fit into the basket...and take no time at all, to be golden and toasted, everything from lasagne to chicken dinners... it's not 'frying' but this machine is so versatile. All in all, I went from being disappointed, to utterly loving this. its small, powerful and incredibly adaptable.
