Just trying to figure out which ones to buy.** A: I bought the 3 quart as I needed that size to replace a worn out Revere Ware pot. I use this size most often. It's great for boiling potatoes as I can for at least 2 to 3 lbs in the pan. I've also used it for smaller batches of chili and spaghetti sauce. Next on my list to get are, in order, 4 qt., 2 qt., 1 1/2 qt. just putting it out there in case anyone wants to complete my wish list! ;) Seriously though it's a great pot that I will have (and use regularrly) for years to come. **Q: How comfortable is the handle on this saucepan? Is it well balanced?** A: The only times the handles get hot is if you put them into a hot oven. The handles otherwise are cool to the touch and comfortable. Having said that, these pans are HEAVY..I have the three quart and if it's full, it is difficult to pick up with one hand. The good thing about these pans is that they are heavy, but sometimes you have to use both hands to lift them if they are full. Yes the handles are very well balanced. **Q: Is this pan dishwasher safe?** A: The instructions from Cuisinart say it's dishwasher safe, and as its stainless steel I believe that to be true. Still, as I use mine for making candies and such, I prefer to wash them by hand.
