It's also useful to weight the lid down to compress the gasket onto the ceramic as it cures- I used a 7KG dumbbell suspended from the lid handle. The product has worked well and is still strong after a lot of heat and cooking. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than exhaust cement when fitting a new silencer *by M***N on 6 June 2014* When working on my exhaust I've previously used exhaust cement which sets like actual cement and is not flexible, therefore it never lasted very long on my exhaust joint before it started to leak as that moves/flexes a lot. This silicone worked a treat and remains slightly flexible to maintain an airtight joint over time.
