Review: Useful range of metallic paints. - Set of metallic paint, has what I needed for scale aircraft modelling, not sure that I'll ever use the metallic colours but maybe I'll try a car kit one day. Usual valao quality and fast service.
Review: A selection of good metallic paints - This set contains all 12 metallic paints in the Model Air range, plus three paints that could be used for rust and a medium grey that could be used to reduce the intensity of the metals if you want a duller, less shiny look. The coverage of these paints is quite variable. Aluminium, Chrome, Steel, Silver, Gunship Grey and Arctic Blue have exceptional coverage even by hand, while Bright Brass and Gold are actually quite poor. The rest of the paints are about typical for Model Air in this regard (except for fluro orange, which has poor coverage but that is to be expected of a fluorescent paint!) One thing I noted is that some of the bottles are in the new Vallejo style with new branding (18ml, transparent casing, made of recycled plastic with a thicker 'spout') while the rest are in the classic style.

**Q: can this paint be used on nails?**
A: Well... It is a acrylic paint and could be used, however it will not last as long as a Nail Polish would and washes off your skin easily. It is also very thin, being designed for airbrushing, so it would take a long time to apply a good coat unless you airbrush it. If you where to airbrush it onto the nail and then apply a clear nail varnish over the top it could work well, but you would need to test the clear nail varnish first to ensure it doesn't act as a solvent for the paint.

**Q: Are they lovely colours?Looking to buy my first paints to practice with my airbrush and not sure what to chose.**
A: I don't think you can go wrong with these paints ,I have been using Vallejo for many years now. The Vallejo air can be used straight from the bottle and into your airbrush without thinning so are ideal for starting out.

**Q: Hi is this suitable for 3mm airbrush gun**
A: The Model Air paints are pre-thinned version of the Model Colour acrylic paint range. They should run through an airbrush straight from the bottle. However, you may need to further thin the paint when using smaller airbrush needles. Experiment with the consistency to find what sprays smoothly through your equipment.

**Q: Hi all. Random question for you. Have any of you found the paint to be a bit thin? I no it's an airbrush set,but seems very light to me.**
A: This product is designed to be used through an Airbrush, the paints are pre-thinned for ease of use and can be directly added to the airbrush hopper. When applied to your miniatures via this method you will get a smooth thin coat. This product is not designed for brushing on but they do provide the same paints in a brushable format in the Model Colour range.
