For me they work great over a Cat5e cable with no loss of quality in the picture. The cable is roughly 20 Ft long. I had to use the single cable version as I only have 2 points behind the TV and 1 is being used for the Smart TV's connection to my network and the Internet.There is a small lag when changing channels; say from Standard Definition BBC1 to High Definition BBC2 but its only a second or so and it doesn't bother me.I thought this model was wall mountable but it is not. There is another version which has a built in bracket for wall mounting but I was told by the supplier that the one I brought is the newer version. I cannot verify that.The instructions are next to useless. They are complicated and do not cover everything. Once you get it working it's straight forward from then on but it was the IR set-up that took the most time to sort. You get two IR Receivers and two IR Transmitters with no description of which is which. There are also two holes for them on each device but it does not say anywhere on the instructions what they do and what cable goes in each hole. I was pulling my hair out in the end.Once I had the right set-up it worked straight away.
