Easy to put on and take off they provide an astonishing level of grip and whilst they are not for prolonged use they will get you going and keep you moving. Bung them in the washing machine after use and they will come up as good as new and be ready till the next time. Excellent for emergencies, makes putting on snow chains almost redundant and importantly will not damage your expensive wheels or body work. I have seen and used several of the look-a-like ones on fleet cars but Autosocks are the ones I have bought for my own use. Highly recommended as long as you appreciate that they have a finite life and distance/speed limitations. But if you have ever fitted snow chains in the dry on a practise run and cursed, imagine how difficult they are to fit when it is a blizzard and your stuck in a dangerous position and they scratch your alloys. I had to use them once when the road to my house was under 3" of compacted snow, and it's steep too. My van became stuck when I had to give way to a car coming down (that would not have been able to stop). As a result I could not set off and I was stuck. I put these on and easily drove the rest of the way home, then reversed up onto my drive aslo steep. I was truly amazed at how well they work.
