It is a rubbery material that folds down. It has a more rigid band that is heat proof and allows you to hold the cup safely. **Q: The description states that it doesn’t leak- if full can you keep it in your bag without getting coffee all over then place.** A: No. Only a proper thermos flask should be 100% leak-proof. If you use it normally, or put it in a mug holder in a moving vehicle (providing you're not driving like a maniac, or over rocky ground) then it should remain leak proof, bearing in mind it has a small hole so that the user can drink out of it when the lid is on. If it's too full then it will spill a little coffee out of the top, so don't fill it to the brim, but that's common sense anyway. **Q: Will popular high street coffee chains make your drink in this cup?** A: Yes. I have had this cup for 4 Year's and all coffee shops have filled it without refusal. How ever I always advise them how to hold the cup and put the lid on myself as coffee shops are use to push on lids and had a couple of close calls. **Q: What size starbucks (or other coffee chain) take away coffee fits in this mug?** A: I know this is an old question and many have answered it, but I thought it might be worth giving some numbers to confirm it. Pokito's largest size is 475ml (16oz). This will take a Starbucks "Grande" (473ml). It won't take ALL of a Costa "Massimio" (496ml) but I think most baristas would just serve it slightly short. Pokito's middle size is 350ml (12oz). This will take a Starbucks "Tall" (354ml) just about. Again, it won't take ALL of a Costa "Medio" (364ml) but is close enough for most people. Pokito's smallest size is 280ml (8oz). This will take Starbuck "Short" (267ml). It will take a Costa "Primo" (276ml). Pokito cannot take a Starbuck "Venti" (591ml), but if you drink your coffee in pints you've got bigger problems than whether it'll fit in your rubber cup ;) If you get your coffee from Pret, their sizes seem to vary from drink to drink. Long drinks like Lattes and Americanos are 330-350ml so will fit in Pokito's middle size. The Flat White (250ml) and Cappuccino (280ml) will fit in Pokito's small size. One thing to bear in mind is that most baristas won't accurately measure things and will rely on a mixture of intuition and the size of their cups. So if, for example, you ask for a Medio Latte in Costa but give them your Pokito fully expanded, there's a good chance you'll get more than 364ml. It'll still only have 2 shots of espresso though, so the extra milk may make it a little weak. Also worth noting that the Pokito has measurement markings at 475ml/16oz and 230ml/8oz. It has no 350ml/12oz mark, presumably because, as 350ml is achieved by collapsing the bottom half, the marking would basically be at the top along size the 475ml mark, which could be confusing. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy - but don't give the lid to the barista! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 March 2018* This is a great cup - just started thinking about how much damage takeaway coffee cups do to the world and switched to this. The fact that it's collapsible means it takes up next to no room in your bag. The white is silicone and the red is solid plastic, so holding it round the red ring doesn't squish the cup when you're drinking. Just chuck it in the dishwasher once you get to work and it cleans beautifully.Couple of bits to add - the lid. When you hand your cup to the barista, don't give them the lid. They try to put it on, squish it down as you would any normal cup, and of course the coffee flies up everywhere and coats the poor girl in milky coffee - speaking from experience here. If you don't give them the lid, they just hand the cup back to you so you can put on the lid yourself. Other thing is, sometimes it takes a few attempts to screw the lid on properly. Expect to find it odd (and a bit hard to unfold!) at first; but get to know it, take it outside and introduce it to your friends: soon you’ll be best mates and a conversation item forever!The good bits - bright colours, three-sizes-in-one, keeps your coffee warm, lid you can drink through that doesn’t scorch your lips off.The ‘meh’ bit - get to know the lid. At first it’s easy to put on cross-threaded (leaky!!) but you’ll get the feel of it soon enough. It isn’t fully coffee-proof if you optimistically turn a full cup upside down (!) but does give you time to see the error of your ways and turn it the right way up again before all your lovely hot chocolate falls out...The AWESOME bits - rinses clean really really well, even if the chocolate sprinkles have melted onto the inside of the lid. And the best bit? Not in the sales blurb but this cup is insulated *just perfectly* so that a cup of hot (drink of your choice, mine’s a coffee, thanks) makes the sides the perfect temperature to wrap your chilly hands around on a gritty day. This is because:a) the pros are good enough reasons for me to buy this product. It's one of the very few good collapsible cups on the market - very suitable for travelling, and it's the only one (at time of writing) that offers the flexibility for 3 cup size changes, which are useful for different coffee machines.b) the cons are not dealbreakers and can be minimised/get rid of with some careful use. So, (i) although this is not leak-proof, it's spill proof - one can certainly make sure the lid and the edge of cup are aligned well before they screw the lid on to ensure the lid tightens well. By doing so, hardly any liquid would come out; (ii) in terms of silicone retaining smell, that applies to all silicone product, and can be easily get rid off, by spraying the product with baking soda and vinegar and then wash with hot water. It does not affect taste of liquid. And silicone is necessary in order for the cup to be collapsible (which was my main requirement).c) their customer service is also excellent. They had got in touch with regards to my criticism of the product and even offer to provide a full refund for any dissatisfaction.
