We do not let grow blocks leave our facility with mold or contaminations. It is more than likely fungi growth but we are glad to double check. Regards, Andrew **Q: Do these need to be placed in the dark?** A: Not at all. No special lighting needed either. **Q: Every picture shows the bag cut down to about 4" tall. The instructions do mention this? Should the bag be cut or not?** A: That's correct. 4-6 inches of the bag is left to provide the moisture and humidity needed to grow Lion's Mane. If the plastic is cut down entirely you will need to hydrate the block daily. **Q: Gnats flying all around, 5 days don't see any growth activities - followed online instructions - why don't you post the instructions on this page ?** A: Did you make sure to soak and drain water after 24-48 hours? Are you watering with 1/4 cup of water every 2-3 days? The instructions are available on this page as well as in the box. Gnats or fruit flies can be attracted to your mushroom blocks the same way that bananas and other produce are. Making sure there isn't a constant pool of water in the bag is vital. 5 days may be too soon to see growth. The growth time varies depending on the conditions of your home and your watering. If you have a spare plastic bag, lightly covering your block may be the best way to prevent gnats from accessing it. If you have a lot of gnats/flies in your home then the garden or greenhouse is the best place to take your block. ## Frequently Bought Together - Lion's Mane Mushroom Grow Kit by Oakland Mushroom Co. | Handmade with Organic Ingredients | Ready to Grow | Harvest in 12-24 Days - TRUE morel mushroom grow kit grow morel mushrooms at home and garden - Back to the Roots Organic Mini Mushroom Grow Kit, Harvest Gourmet Oyster Mushrooms In 10 days, Top Gardening Gift, Holiday Gift, & Unique Gift --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/492068469-lions-mane-mushroom-grow-kit-by-oakland-mushroom-co-handmade](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/492068469-lions-mane-mushroom-grow-kit-by-oakland-mushroom-co-handmade) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
