Does it tend to dry quickly on the nib?** A: The smearing depends on 1) how much ink your nib lays down and 2) how absorbent the paper is. Although waterproof, this ink tends to leave some residue which can smear. Using a dry-ish pen and absorbent paper helps avoiding this.It does not dry on the nib, unless you leave it uncapped for a long time. **Q: Can i use this in dip pen?** A: You could, but it's a fairly expensive ink for a dip pen, especially when there are so many other options available. **Q: Would this work with a brush pen, such as a Kuretake 40?** A: I've not used a brush pen. My wife has used a variety of inks in a brush pen and as with ink in fountain pens, there is always some difference depending on paper used. I regularly use a fountain pen and regularly use this ink. I did a bit of research and found a site that said Platinum carbon ink can be used in the Kuretake 40. Since Kiwa-Guro is a carbon ink and is used interchangeably with Platinum in fountain pens, I am guessing you can use this ink in a brush pen. The ink is fabulous. I'd give it a try. **Q: Does any vendor here ship the old style round bottle or is the new square bottle all that’s left?** A: Because the ink was getting difficult to find, I stockpiled it. I wasn’t aware they changed the bottle shape.
