You can only use these bulbs if your car is already outfitted for HID headlights. You cannot plug them into a car that presently has halogen headlights. **Q: Are they the exact same brightness as the original that come stock? I got a replacement but not by Philips and I don't think they were as bright.** A: This is the exact same bulb that came with my GMC Sierra HD. It is 2000 lumens and color is 4200k (yellowish). I have never been happy with the brightness. Philips makes 2 alternatives to this size standard bulb. The X-treme Vision is also 2000 lumens but color is 4800k.
