The top "handle" is the same colour as main body which is not easily shown on the internet site. Its on display in the living room mantel and is a "silent" tick. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this clock metal on the sides other than the front as i've noted some clocks are partially plastic?**
A: The casing is plastic apart from the back door which is gilt coloured aluminum. It also has a weighted base plate.

**Q: How do I get to the battery compartment please?**
A: At the back of the clock, you will see a small knob towards the right hand side.  Pull this and the back will open to the left. Inside you will see the working mechanism, at the bottom of which is a horizontal space for the battery. Insert 1 x AA size battery, with the positive pole to the right.  Ensure the battery makes positive connection to both ends, by pushing in firmly.

**Q: Does the 18cms height include the handle?**
A: The height from the bottom to the top of the handle is 18cm

**Q: Does the clock chime once on any hour, or does it chime the number of chimes to match the hour?**
A: It's not a chiming clock.  It's beautiful and I really love it

Smart, traditionally styled carriage clock. Bought to replace a similar model that had packed up. Contains classic quartz movement (1xAA battery required) inside solid metal case. Decorative handle is plastic and has come adrift on one side. Still stays in place, just don't pick it up by the handle.
